About Us
Founded in 1991, and incorporated in 1996, the mission of Tulsa Children’s Chorus is to provide children and youth from various social, educational, ethnic, religious, and economic backgrounds the opportunity to learn and perform high caliber choral music in a professional setting. The ultimate goal of Tulsa Children’s Chorus is to inspire a life-long love of all music, both as a performer and as a listener.
Over the past twenty years, we have grown from a tiny class in the Tulsa Community Arts School to a well-respected choral organization in the city of Tulsa. Tulsa Children’s Chorus represents private, public, and home schools throughout Tulsa and the surrounding cities. Singers in our organization range in age from eight to eighteen years, have been accepted by audition, and attend weekly rehearsals from August through April. Through the generosity of Asbury United Methodist, we are able to conduct our rehearsals in the south Tulsa area.
The purpose of the Tulsa Children’s Chorus is to advance the two ideals of music excellence and social mission, each of which reinforces the other, by providing children and youth with social, educational, and skill development opportunities in music-related performing arts.
Uniquely, our young singers experience the personal worth of others from various ethnic, religious, and economic backgrounds through the achievement of artistic excellence.
2012-2013 Board of Trustees
Tulsa Children’s Chorus is governed by its Board of Trustees. All of our trustees generously volunteer his or her time to support and serve our student singers. Each trustee brings a unique set of skills and experience to the board, resulting in a well-rounded membership. The common link among the trustees is their love of the arts, and a strong desire to support activities which provide arts education and performance for children in the Tulsa area.
